If you've been thinking about getting in on this free game...nothing better than to start off with a double-XP weekend. Goes until 12am monday. Fast way to pick up some much needed certifications and maybe a weapon upgrade. Game is free, of course. www.planetside2.com. Catleap Extreme 2B only allows displaying Vanu Sovereignty characters as your primary toon when running 120hz+ :P

6 month sub+50% boost = 400exp per kill (+more for killstreak ;D)

That said, I get CPU capped in big battles with a 2600k @ 4.7ghz at all settings low, shadows off, foliage off.
Granted it might be the 6950, but it would show so in-game then?

Yeah the game is really very poorly optimized. My biggest problem with the game is how terrible the netcode is and how annoying it is to come up against players with high ping times. Especially the asians who are connecting to the game through VPN. Just don't stand a chance against some of them. I die before I can even pull up my scope. :( Had a very frustrating night in Planetside.

I got one of my sale purchased boosts helping me out in this 2x xp weekend :D But yea, this is my fav PvP fps ever, never played another as much as i've played this one. :D I highly recommend this game. Even though its still raping my 2600k even at the 4.8ghz I recently set it at.

I've got steps down to get framerate between 65-250 at all times, with an average of 75-90 even in very heavy fighting. This is on a 4.6ghz 3770k, with SLI DISABLED. Just Single GTX 680. :) VERY happy about this.

Why would you disable SLI, does it run crappy?
or was that just a test?

Shitty unoptimized engine can't handle SLI well. Lowering some settings drops the GPU requirement before being CPU capped at less than 100% use on one card. Doing it this way also removed any micro-stutter, no matter how small. I'm very happy with my new results. I did set one of the other cards as a dedicated PhysX card. Which will be REALLY helpful in a few days with PhysX is integrated into the game in 3 days.

I can't wait for the physx to come back. Hopefully my 570 wont melt but Im guessing this patch is gonna have a few optimizations. Damn 700 series where are you!
