I think there is some coincidence here.

Could this be AMD's new feature they hinted at thats going to be in Tomb Raider?

Since the PS4 is using AMD hardware, its highly possible.

On another thought, Tress = hair the picture has hair and Lara Croft has what... losts of hair :p so it could be unrelated and AMD have a new realistic hair type tech, which is very much needed in these plastic looking games.

Also Intel own Havok dont they? but there could be some sort of deal going on behind the scenes.

Its still possible either way, have to wait and see!

I would love some new hair tech. Even looking at Nvidia's "A New Dawn," the hair is just not "believable."

Yeah, with "high quality" hair you get that ugly highlighting around the edges due to the transparency. There's also the laggy spaghetti hair, but nobody likes laggy spaghetti.

The thing I notice allot in games and allot of others do is things like plastic hair, the dawn 2 was great but I didnt see the point in it if it wasnt releated to actual games but just a tech video, either way with tomb raider we are going to see what the mystery is.

Don't laugh, best hair ive seen in games was leons in RE4. It moved very realistically, the one part that could move anyway.

The point of Dawn 2 is to be a tech demo. In other words; to demonstrate new technology. The new technology that they demonstrate can be implemented in games in the future. That's why tech demos usually have better technology than games.

Great. The future is realistic hair modelling LOL. I remember seeing Monsters, Inc and being amazed at the big blue guy's lovely furry coat; I guess we'll see that in real-time now. Hardly something to get *too* excited about tho... :D

Dawn reminds me of this lady: http://www.imdb.com/media/rm1549829632/nm2038170

who was in that PS3 demo from Quantic Dream:

I respectfully disagree. Hair, faces, and trees are some of the things that bother me the most about current gen graphics in games. I am really sick of all the plastic hair, blocky low res faces, and cardboard cutout trees adorned with one dimensional leaves.

I dunno. Dead space 3 was pretty impressive. I don't think I could ask for more. The hair and face are next next gen.

Nice! just like I predicted (well it was pretty obvious lol)

This type of hair/fur physics has been in demand for a long time, cant wait for this. It is a little boring with everything being so static in all our games these days, even grass in some games is just pre rendered to flow in a certain way, its a step in the right direction.

It's been possible with PhysX for a long time (fuck you Nvidia), but TressFX will most likely be open tech.

Almost as bad as Crysis 3's 60Hz foliage. So annoying to see certain items limited to 60Hz inside a game running at 120Hz.

Also...where are videos of TressFX? I really thought we'd seem some kind of video...if all they were unveiling was a few pictures...not impressed. -_-

I know, its taken this long for someone to implement it into a game, cant wait to play it tbh, hopefully its actually a decent tomb raider game, I used to love the old ones, I wont keep my hopes up though.

Yeh thats exactly what I was thinking about when talking about grass since ive been playing it recently, the grass looks so choppy. Farcry 3 does a better job and the best ive seen yet in this respect but its still not perfect.

Console gameplay but here is the game, the cutscenes are awesome, looks like its gonna be a really good movie sort of game with a good story, similar to Uncharted (well, Uncharted is similar to Tomb raider lol) and a bit like indiana Jones type setting.

Graphics look like they're gonna be real good on PC

I wanted to see TressFX. Not Tomb Raider. :P Also, how did he get access to the game already?

Edit: Nevermind. I see there was a pirate version released for the Xbox already.

Edit2: And a demo was apparently leaked for PC

Thats funny... you didn't ask me you wanted to see tress FX??? I was just posting up game play of the game so we can get an idea of what its like and what it may be like on PC because it is highly related to this thread LOL.

He is an official 'game walkthrough player' lol. He got the game early from the devs allowing him to play it early and show everyone, which means they have allot of faith in it because usually as you know devs dont let people play the game early to broadcast as it can effect sales, sometimes they dont even let people review the game until release day.

Yeh same as, Uncharted 2 was one of the best games ive ever played, had me in it all the way through.

I might just be different from a lot of gamers. For me, I love playing a part in a movie more than just playing a game. I like to feel the story. I want to care about the story. Not like in many games where the story just gets in the way of me playing my damn game! I can't skip those cutscenes fast enough. For example, Metal Gear Solid 4. Had more cutscenes than gameplay. That was a tad much as each cutscene was really really long. But if they were shorter, having cutscenes happen frequently can keep reminding you there's an actual story going on here, as opposed to "filler" between missions.

Yeh, Unchartred is the best movie game Ive ever played, it was as if you were literally playing the movie, instead of watching cutscenes, it had lots very brief cut scenes but they were all amazingly done and very interesting, better than most films, but 90% of the game was you playing the actual movie, Ive never played another game like it.
Hopefully this will be kinda similar, not hoping for it to be anywhere near as good because Uncharted like allot of exclusives had a huge budget and they did allot with it lol, the story was also very long and never got boring, loved the mp too although didnt play it for that long, was pretty good though.
