ASUS have the best Motherboard team at the moment, their whole X79 range
is pretty solid.
All round, I would have to say the
RIVE is the best X79 MB ATM.
This is going off what I have been
Reading, my RIVE will arrive in the next few days so I will let you know what
I think of it.

If you're going down the RIVE path I would suggest having a look at the RIVF, unless your looking at running 8 dimms and a load of extra features you will most likely never use on a day to day basis. Even though I have had a few issues with Asus lately I have recently purchased a RIVF while waiting for a RIVE rma, in hindsight should have gone with a RIVF.

RIVE if your budget isn't a issue.
With the upcoming Ivy Bridge-E there's a upgrade path as well.

Still, not a lot of programs take advantage of the extra cores on the SB-E.
