So I sold my old Gigabyte 7970 3GB due to the fact that it had coil whine. It worked perfectly and all but I just had to sell it for that purpose.

Anyways, my next decision was to purchase a GTX 670. It was either the EVGA FTW edition ($541 including shipping) or the Palit Jetstream ($501 including shipping).

I was leaning towards the Palit Jetstream but I saw a reference Sapphire HD 7970 3GB in fantastic condition for $350 AUD and purchased it because the seller stated it had no coil whine which is what I wanted. Did you guys think I did a good choice?

Here are the GTX 670 (http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=193_1387), 680 (http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=193_1377) and AMD 7970 (http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=193_1309) prices in Australia. Also I wasn't too picky which is better because all three of those cards run pretty similar imo!

Lol.. what if the guy has the same card you sold? Anyways, if you OC the 7970 well.. it should work out to your advantage.
As far as 670's.. I would get the Asus' one w/ two fans, there's a TOP version which is factory OC'd while the other one is stock but not reference pcb. That or the Gigabyte windforce which I have.

Yes IF it's in perfect condition. There's a reason why people can't sell used cars that came out the same year. Buyers will wonder what could possibly be wrong with it. I'm a big proponent of buying used hardware, but I worry about used newly-released ones. I mean, you sold one with a problem with it, right?

There was a promotion going on for 7000 cards where it included 3 games. If you're planning on buying the same games, you might as well buy a new one that includes the games you want.

I sold mine because I had coil whine which is not really a "problem" with video cards (since it's quite common) except that I didn't like it. My buyer knew before hand but he still accepted it. Well I already purchased it. He has good eBay ratings and I'm willing to take a risk! I asked him all the necessary questions about coil whine, etc with his card and I'm sure he answered truthfully :) - this purchased actually gave me spare cash for a second catleap, hahah :D

They don't have promotions here in Australia, well if they do... it's like a $20 off thing.. but remember that 7970s in the USA cost at least $400 brand new and over here it cost $500+ brand new :(. $500 AUD = $508 USD

I'll post in this thread as well after I receive my GPU and how it goes which will be late this week or early next week.
