The price went from 555 to 650 and then to 719. I've been told it is because of a stronger Korean won, higher priced lg panels due to shortages, and the overall rarity of the monitors. I've been told no more will be made do another 3-6 months.

Not unless the reverse engineer project is successful. There's not enough quantity of existing boards to sell them individually. There's more profit to be made by the manufacturer by selling a full monitor as opposed to a single component.

Is the price likely to drop in the near future or should I just bite the bullet and pay the extra? Considering buying one in the next month or so if the price isn't set to change.

Well new panels come out in 1-3 months. Then it's the issue of testing the panel with the boards. And then creating a new monitor housing to fit the new panel. Basically, could be while off. I'm hoping there will be no compatibility issues between the new panels and the 2b boards so the only issue comes down to a timeframe of when it'll be ready. I had been told likely 3-6 months for monitors.

There are no pixel perfect models. They're all standard versions that follow the dead pixel policy listed in a picture on the sales page. Essentially, up to a maximum of 5 dead pixels, with no more than 1 in the Center region allowed, and no more than 5 allowed in all surrounding regions combined. If you ask people though, I don't think anyone has gotten more than one or two bad pixels on their monitors but you'd have to ask on the forums to confirm this.

Hey Hyper don't make up the price so don't blam him for it and if you saw hyper other post were green sum or who ever it was wanted to jack up the price $70/90 more and hyper told them to keep the monitors.

You're speaking of one other company that did a limited production run using older 2b boards they found, and no longer have any product. And not including shipping in their price while they were selling it. And the sale being a 3.5 month wait time after people made their purchase and paid for their product. And as thezone said...you're clearly unaware of who I am or what I do here. I just list witech's monitor for sale on the website. The prices are dictated by them. And with no upcoming stock for a few months, and there being no other monitor of this nature sold anywhere outside of private sales, and with the prices being in line with 60hz domestic models, it's not all that bad. Feel free to ask questions if there's anything you're unsure of before making accusations. I'm quite open and more than willing to share information.

It's totally fair that there now is some real competition on this new sector and it is for the good of the user. Just keep in mind that the "other company" is a start up and even though i have not order in their store yet, i heard that they are pretty honest in shipping time and the quality of the products they can offer and these are still 200$ less (with shipping!).

Just one question: Why would you censor that "other company" and delete all that concern them from this website if you don't make profit over catleap sales??

RevanCorana, Hyper does not have a stock of the displays. Its witech and or greensum that are responsible for the delays in shipment and availability.
If the competitors offer comparable or better product and with a better bang for the buck, then thats great. Also until they are proven to be selling what they claim, they are selling snake oil.
On the censorship: You can't hide such information on the internet. IF Hyper is deleting related posts he must have his reasons. Its not that he is desperate to sell you an overpriced product.

If you'd like to order a product from a company that no longer makes that product, go ahead. You seem to have ignored the explanation in my previous post and assume that I'm not aware of what is happening with this market. best of luck to you.

Interested in getting 2b catleap, feel confident enough to get a pixel perfect model after reading up on what to expect. Noticed that pixel perfect option no longer available on 120hz.biz, does this mean that whatever is left of remaining stock is not pixel perfect? i.e. someone has gone through remaining stock and put aside all pixel perfects.

When the stock arrived from the factory I was given numbers on how many standard and how many pixel perfect models there are available. All pixel perfect models are sold. We had a few cases of dead pixels on the pixel perfect screens that were sent out. After speaking with them, they said pixel perfect guarantees no bright/stuck pixels, but black/dead pixels can still exist.

I was just told a few pixel perfect models may be added soon. Keep an eye on the forums or shop if you're looking for one of those.

Looking forward to see how it goes with the 2013 panels and 2b/variant controllers. As per specification for pixel perfect above, would still be interested in getting 3 if they can get 100hz+. I would also be willing to pay a premium if guarantee of full pixel perfect i.e. no black/dead.
